Marching Band
Check out the "Forms & Documents" page - there you will find all band documents, handouts, forms and flyers needed for the school year, for every group. Go take a look! All documents are also available in the band room near the office door.
Mr. Luna's Wish List
A HUGE thank you goes out to all that donated any item, or cash to go towards the bigger items on the list. I have left last year's list posted to give you an idea of the types of things that are always needed. In the meantime if you have any questions before the new list is posted, contact Tony Luna.
Rehearsals & Competitions Tips & Info
We do our best to provide you with accurate information however, ending times are estimated-especially on away games and events. Rehearsal ending times are pretty close to what is on the schedule but as for competition ending or return times we can never know if a game will go into overtime, or if we will run into delays on the trip back. Please be patient and know that we do our best to get back in a timely manner.
To avoid a long wait in the parking lot for parents, directors & chaperones, we suggest that you have your student call you from the bus when they are about 30 minutes out. We do love your students but after a long day competing, then a few hours on the bus, we all want to get straight home!
Also, please take special care when driving through the parking lot to pick up your kids in the wee hours of the morn'. We know you are in a hurry to get home but there have been a couple of REALLY close calls after some of the late nighters so we need everyone to take special care and be very aware of sleepy teens wandering around looking for their ride home.
If you chaperone an event, or attended an event just to enjoy the show and want to take your student home in your vehicle, please download a Transportation Release Form, complete it, and see the director a few days before the particular event date to confirm and verify approval. As per school policy, and for the safety of your student, a release form has to be completed, signed, and dated BEFORE EACH EVENT or the student CAN NOT be released - EVEN TO A PARENT.
PARENTS! IMPORTANT! SAFETY FIRST! During marching season and after certain late night returns, we are going to barracade off and ask that you PLEASE do not use the five to seven parking spots closest to the driveway up to the band room door, and along the curb closest to the portables when you come to pick up your students after a game or competition. We need to keep that area clear for either the semi to use to manuever around in, or for a safe bus unloading zone. Remember, the driver of the truck often has to be back at 4:00 a.m. or 5:00 a.m. the very next morning to haul our band equipment to an out of town competition. We need to be considerate, and literally give him extra space. There have been many times the driveway to the bandroom was being blocked by parents sitting in their cars waiting for thier kids after a game and they didn't even move when they saw the truck backing up towards them!! So, now we are asking that you do not park anywhere in the general area. Click on the cone & barricade icon for a visual of these zones.
Other Info
If your student is in Jazz Ensemble or Percussion Ensemble, there will be additional guidelines/agreements, rehearsals, competitions and performance schedules for those ensembles. Please check those respective pages for those schedules. Also note that this is a graded class and all rehearsals and performances are mandatory, and that each student is a very important, and integral part of the TEAM!
Each program depends on donations and sponsorships to stay afloat, so talk to a director about how you can help make a difference today.
